Our Studio HD facility will provide you with a new avenue of creativity and learning within your school. It will provide you with a fantastic chromakey screen HD video studio capable of delivering deliver superb results.
Each school's requirements are different, which is why we don't provide a 'one size fits all' Studio specification, but what we can do is give you an idea of the equipment and work included in a typical school studio install.
There is nothing quite like a studio environment. The look, feel and sound of a studio room is quite special. When you enter the studio, you immediately sense that you have entered a creative and inspiring workspace. In fact, one of the most rewarding aspects of our work is the reaction from teachers and pupils when they enter the studio for the first time.
We offer schools a choice of cameras. The camera shown is a professional HD model with a comprehensive range of features and superb picture quality. Its compact size makes it good for mobile camerawork and easy to operate for primary school children. Older children may prefer to use a larger, more advanced model.
These acoustic tiles don't provide soundproofing but do help to condition the sound of the room and reduce echoes by preventing sounds reflecting off hard surfaces. Sometimes these will not be necessary as the selected room may have a sufficiently 'dead' sound already, but if that's not the case, we usually find that these tiles make a big difference.
Using pantograph lighting (which is connected to the ceiling or a wall rather than being freestanding) reduces the number of trailing cables for students (and teachers) to trip over. The lighting is crucial to create just the right light levels for effective chromakeying results.
The prompter means you can read your words whilst looking at the camera, just like newsreaders and presenters on TV.
The chromakey screen (used in conjunction with the Adobe software) allows a different background to be edited in after filming, commonly used in TV and film.
Edit suite PC, monitor and software
This is where all your video can be edited using the included Adobe Premier Elements software. Working with video uses a lot of computing power so the PC we supply is more powerful than a standard PC.
If your room requires it, we will give the walls a coat of black paint. This helps to stop light reflecting off pale or white walls, which could affect the lighting and therefore video quality.
Some might say the most important piece of equipment by far. Mind your fingers!
Having a Studio is one thing. Where to put it is another. It's therefore reassuring to know that we are experienced in making the best possible use of whatever available space you have in your school. We have certainly been presented with some interesting challenges when it comes to installing Studios, however we have yet to come across a school where it was impossible to find a suitable location. One added benefit of installing a Studio is that it really can breathe new life into an unloved or under-utilised room. Take a look at our before and after gallery to see what we mean.
